Osteoporosis NT (AONT) at Seniors Expo 2019<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Our work includes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responding to walk in, email and telephone enquiries, providing tailored information packs<\/li>\n<li>Producing our newsletter, \u00a0<strong><em>joiNTed<\/em><\/strong>, up to six times each year<\/li>\n<li>Hosting pain management courses for consumers \u2013 relevant to anyone experiencing chronic pain, whatever the cause<\/li>\n<li>Providing information stands at a range of forums throughout the year, to showcase and share our resources<\/li>\n<li>Keeping in touch with other community health organisations and the services they provide<\/li>\n<li>Delivering bulk materials to various providers on request<\/li>\n<li>Presentations to community groups by invitation, on pre-arranged topics<\/li>\n<li>Collaborating with Arthritis Australia on various national projects to contribute towards better outcomes for those with arthritis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Support Groups<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Support groups are opportunities for members with common interests and experiences to meet informally over a cup of tea or coffee, to chat, share news and ideas etc.\u00a0 Good company in a relaxed setting means feeling better when you leave than when you arrived!<\/p>\n<p>The Palmerston group meets monthly<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>at the Brennan Electorate Office, Palmerston, Shopping Centre (opposite Target)<\/li>\n<li>on the third Monday of each month at 10:00 am<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each meeting usually starts with some simple chair based exercises.\u00a0 Most meetings include guest speakers and\/or activities.\u00a0 New faces are most welcome!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Volunteering opportunities<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Our service delivery relies on community minded people who are prepared to engage with others in varying capacities on behalf of AONT.\u00a0 Appropriate training and support is provided to ensure an understanding of the volunteer positions, the role of the organistaion and the expectations of our clientele.<\/p>\n<p>As well as making presentations, manning information stands and facilitating pain management courses, other volunteer roles include: board membership, newsletter and brochure production, and assisting with fund-raising activities.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Membership<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>As a grass roots organisation, developed to meet a community need, we welcome new members.\u00a0 Membership is just $40 per year ($20 concession) and adjusted pro-rata on a quarterly basis.\u00a0 All memberships expire on 30<sup>th<\/sup> June each year, with personalised renewal notices sent out with newsletters in the latter half of the year.\u00a0 We look forward to hearing from you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Arthritis Foundation of the Northern Territory trading as Arthritis &amp;
